What is Holistic Therapy?
Holistic therapies are those which are intended to heal all levels of your being - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. These therapies act on your subtle body anatomy and parasympathetic nervous system; clearing away any blockages, aligning your energies and raising your consciousness. The holistic therapies on offer at Indigo Holistics include Reiki and Crystal Healing, and Hopi Ear Candling.
The lives we live are weaved with insidiously hidden stressors to our systems - the additives in our foods, the pollution in the air, the chemicals in our household products. Added to this we live busy lives, giving out our energy continuously to work, family, relationships, activities etc. We pick up on the energies of others as we go about our day, which can impact on our mood. This depletion and transactional exchange of energy can take its toll on our spirits. Over time, this can lead to our bodies holding on to physical and emotional tension, which can often leave us feeling fried and fatigued.

How does Reiki Healing work?
Reiki is synonymous with 'universal life force'. It refers to to spark of energy and consciousness which runs through all things and brings life to them. During a Reiki healing session, the therapist draws on this energy and directs it with focus and intention towards the client. The client receives this energy and this activates their parasympathetic nervous system, to empower and enable the client's own self-healing ability, to work on an energetic level.
Reiki is not bound by the limits of time and space, which means Reiki can be given to a being, object, situation or environment, regardless of where (or when) they may be in the world.
How does Crystal Therapy work?
When Crystal Therapy is combined with an energy healing, this can be a powerful treatment. Known by the ancients as 'the brain cells of the Earth', Crystals each hold an energetic charge, and emit energy vibrations aligned with their varying composition of minerals. These energetic frequencies work on the subtle energy of the human body to tweak and adjust your own biorhythmic vibrations, bringing your energy back into its most effective alignment. Each type of crystal has properties and qualities based on their individual mineral make up, which in turn can bring about specific changes in the body.
During a Crystal Therapy session, the therapist will place crystals on or around your body, use a crystal wand to clear your energetic space (or aura), and may use crystal pendulums to clear energetic blockages in your body. The body receives the energy frequency of the crystal much like a radio receives a signal, and aligns with this energy to bring about clarity and healing changes. These sessions are combined with energy medicine to boost your healing journey.
How does Hopi Ear Candling work?
Hopi Ear Candling is an ancient tradition which has been practised for centuries, in Native America, Egypt and Greece.
This treatment involves gently inserting a hollow 'candle' into the client's ear, and when it is lit, the upward airflow created by the flame encourages any toxins and other debris to be drawn out from the ear canal. The soft crackling of the candle can be deeply relaxing and will resonate with clients who engage with ASMR audio for relaxation. Due to their internal interconnectedness, this treatment benefits the whole of the ear/nose/throat area of the body, leaving the client feeling wonderfully cleansed and cleared.
This is a perfect treatment for clients who suffer with sinusitis, rhinitis, problems with excess or blocked ear wax, recurrent colds and tension headaches. It can also benefit clients with a tired or cloudy mind.
